Use the checklist

Prepare for a physiotherapy enquiry

A service newsletter can introduce a clinic, but it cannot determine what care an individual needs. Use this worksheet to organise practical and clinical questions before speaking with a qualified professional.

Checklist

  1. Describe the concern in your own words, including when it occurs and what activities it affects. Keep a private note of relevant questions rather than sending a detailed history through an unverified contact route.

  2. Ask about the practitioner's qualifications, assessment process and scope of service. Clarify how recommendations, alternatives and uncertainty will be explained during an appointment.

  3. Confirm appointment length, fees and cancellation arrangements directly. Ask what information to bring and how to discuss any existing care with the practitioner.

Questions and answers

Does a treatment description mean it is right for me?

No general description can establish individual suitability. Use it to prepare questions for an assessment, including what the proposed approach aims to address and how progress would be reviewed. Keep marketing claims separate from advice based on your circumstances.
