A study update can help participants read ahead, but a useful preparation plan stays focused on the actual session. Keep your reading notes separate from scheduling information.

Checklist

  1. Record the current topic and any material the organiser has identified. Note the passage, edition or resource so that everyone can locate the same text.

  2. Write one observation, one question and one connection you want to explore. Distinguish the text itself from a teacher's interpretation and your own response.

  3. Confirm meeting time, location and format directly. Ask how newcomers participate and whether there are expectations for preparation, discussion or follow-up.
