Prepare a requirements sheet for water treatment equipment
Water treatment equipment should be discussed against a defined application. Collect the requirements and unknowns before comparing product descriptions, keeping a supplier’s claim separate from evidence about your own water and operating conditions.
Identify the application
Describe the intended use, location, available space and the process the equipment would serve. Note who is responsible for defining requirements. Separate domestic, commercial and industrial uses instead of assuming the same product description answers all three.
Record the information you have
List existing reports, their dates and who produced them. Keep missing measurements explicit. An appearance, smell or general product label does not establish water quality. Ask an appropriate specialist what information is needed for the proposed application before discussing equipment selection.
Compare complete operating needs
Prepare questions about installation, capacity under specified conditions, maintenance, consumables and waste handling. Ask how performance claims are tested and which conditions limit them. Do not carry a result from one installation into another without evidence.
Make the comparison reviewable
Create a table with requirement, supplier response, supporting document and unresolved question. Include ongoing responsibilities and costs as well as the initial purchase. This worksheet organises an enquiry; it does not select a treatment process or establish that water is suitable for drinking or any other particular use.
