Read an anxiety self-help resource with a question sheet
A self-help resource can be easier to assess when you keep a short reading note. Use the sheet to understand what the author is offering, record questions and distinguish general information from help tailored to your circumstances.
Identify the resource
Record its title, author or responsible organisation, date and intended audience where these are stated. Note whether it presents education, personal experience or professional guidance. Leave missing details unknown rather than treating a polished download page as evidence of expertise.
Read one section at a time
Summarise the main point in your own words and write down terms you want explained. Keep any suggested exercise separate from claims about its expected effect. You do not need to adopt an exercise simply because it appears in a downloadable guide.
Prepare questions for support
If you want to discuss the resource with an appropriate professional, bring its title and the passages you are unsure about. Ask how general information relates to the help you are seeking. Keep personal notes private; a shared review can describe the resource without publishing your experiences.
Record the limits
Note which questions the resource answers and which remain open. A guide is not an individual assessment and cannot establish what support is right for a particular person. This worksheet organises reading and questions; it supplies no diagnosis, treatment instruction or promise that symptoms will change.
