Questions before choosing a reformer or movement class

Questions before choosing a reformer or movement class

A class title does not explain its pace or equipment requirements. Use this question sheet to find out whether a session matches your experience and access needs.

Work through the checklist

  1. Ask what equipment is used and whether an introduction is required. Describe your experience without assuming all classes with similar names are equivalent.

  2. Discuss individual adaptations with a suitably qualified instructor. If you have health concerns or restrictions, seek appropriate professional guidance before participating.

  3. Confirm class size, supervision, arrival time and cancellation terms. After a first session, note which instructions were clear and what you need explained.

A useful question

Can I join solely because a class is described as beginner-friendly?

Ask what that description means in practice. The instructor should explain prerequisites, support and how to raise concerns during the session.
